Term Break Intensive - Ethical Practice

Event date:
Monday, 25 September 2017 - 6:30am to Friday, 29 September 2017 - 7:15pm

Yoga Mandir is pleased to introduce our term break Intensive program which holds the theme of Niyama and Yama: What is an ethical practice of yoga?

The series of three, seasonal, week long intensives is offered in the term breaks in Autumn, Winter and Spring. Students attend both morning and evening (6:30-8:00am and 5:45-7:15pm) Monday to Friday. The evening components of the program are based around asana from the IYA Intermediate Junior Level teachers syllabus as given by BKS Iyengar. Over the three seasons the asanas progress from basic standing, seated and back bending poses, toward more advanced twisting, abdominal, arm balancing and back bending asana.

The morning Pune Style Practice is an opportunity to establish or maintain your own practice of what you have learnt using your own sequence, pace and timings. Support is provided under the guidance of the Intensive teacher for those who are new to a personal practice. The teacher may provide/ recommend sequences from Yoga Mandir’s Sadhana Booklet.

Working with a set sequence helps to cultivate concentration and to observe one’s responses and reactions, with explicit reference each day to a particular ethical precept.
